The CBC Beginner Race is for first timers only.  To be eligible to participate, you must have attended a CBC safety certification clinic (or have proof of attendance at a similar clinic) and have never competed in winter biathlon before.  It is a sprint format (2 shooting bouts and 3 skiing laps, with penalty loops) with shorter-than-standard distances.  This event is about helping those who have never raced get a feel for the flow of biathlon racing and get comfortable with race and range procedures in a low key, no pressure environment.  We will have several volunteers on hand to help answer questions and guide you through the process.  If you attended a safety certification clinic in the past but never raced, we will have a brief refresher the morning of the race.  This event is capped at 20 racers.

NOTE: You must be at least age 13 to use a CBC club .22 rifle. Safety certified individuals age 11-12 are welcome to participate, but must have their own .22 biathlon rifle.

• 9:00-9:30 Safety review
• 9:30-10:00 Bib Pickup
• 10:00-10:45 Zero
• 10:50 Pre-race meeting
• 11:00 First wave start
• 11:45 (or when first wave completes) Second wave start
• 12:45 (or when second wave completes) Wrap up meeting, range cleanup
