BEFORE YOU REGISTER:
- Review the logistics information on the CBC web site.
- Ensure you have a valid USBA annual or one-day membership. This requirement also applies to guides for para biathlon competitors.
- Ensure you have a signed waiver on file for the current CBC fiscal year (Nov 1 - October 31). This requirement also applies to guides for para biathlon competitors.
- If you plan to use a .22 rifle in the event, you will also need proof of CBC and USBA Rifle Safety Certification.

[Sprint]
Sprint format including para biathlon categories. Courses consist of three ski laps with two shooting bouts. U15 competitors, U13 competitors, and para biathlon competitors shoot in the prone position only. All other competitors shoot prone, stand.
Note: Guides for para biathlon competitors must also register for the event. There is no charge for guide registration.
Race distances:
Para biathlon categories (visually impaired, sit ski, stand): Choose from 6km, 4.5km, 3km

[Pursuit]
Pursuit format: five ski laps with four shooting bouts.
U15 competitors, U13 competitors, and para biathlon competitors shoot in the prone position only. All other competitors shoot prone, prone, stand, stand.

[Mass Start]
Mass start format: five ski laps with four shooting bouts.

[Single Mixed Relay]
Single mixed relay event featuring teams of two racers of any combination of shapes, sizes, gender, etc. Example team compositions: parent/child, classmates, siblings,...you get the idea.
Race distances:
Each team member may choose to ski the 1km
or 1.5km course, and will ski that same course multiple times, with the total number of ski laps depending on the skier's position in the team. The lead-off team member will ski a total of four laps; the anchor team member will ski a total of five laps. Each team member shoots four times.
All prone shooting for U15 and U13 competitors.
[Individual]
The Individual format, biathlon's original format and longest race distances. Five ski laps with four shooting bouts and a time penalty for each miss. (No penalty loops!)

Race day schedule:
- 0900 - 0930: Bib pickup at the range. NO BIB PICKUP AFTER 0930
- 0930 - 0955: Zero for Wave 1 competitors
- 1005 - 1030: Zero for Wave 2/Wave 3 competitors
- 1035: Pre-race meeting
- 1050: First wave start
- 1200 (approximately; later for longer formats): Second wave start. Actual start time will be after all wave 1 competitors clear the range.
- 1300 (approximate): Wave 3 (para biathlon categories). Actual start time will be after wave 2 competitors clear the range.
